"Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." Ephesians 6:14-17
When we look at the armour of God found in Ephesians 6, what we notice is that almost every vital area is protected by the armour except for the back and it's because in those days, the Roman soldiers armour was as such that the back was bare. This was because of the very nature of their approach in fighting. The soldiers would protect each other's back as they fight their enemies. Each soldier trusted his fellow soldiers to protect his back.

We, who are in that spiritual battlefield (whether or not we realize it), need the prayers and support of one another to cover each other’s backs! The attacks of the evil one are often aimed to us from the back and hence, we won't be able to see it coming, so the prayers of others will protect us. There are angles in our spiritual sight that are our blind spots and we need each other to point these out.
No wonder Jesus commissioned the 72 to go out two-by-two so that they could have each other’s backs! This Easter season, let’s step up in faith together, pray for each other, push each other forward and just press on toward that ultimate goal – to see Jesus face to face!
Got your back, bro!
