Is There Trust? Is There Peace?

The opposite of peace is discord -> The heart of discord is sin -> The Catechism defined the first sin as, "man letting trust in his Creator die in his heart"
The moment we stop trusting in Jesus, we fall into sin and inevitably, discord with God, others and even our own selves kick in. How to do we grow in trust and hence receive peace?
Run to Jesus, the Prince of Peace! Accepting Christ as Lord of our lives means to allow our souls the joyous encounter of sharing in God’s own divine life, the life of grace which brings with it the assurance of eternal happiness. This is the source and summit of the peace that Christ gives us that the world cannot give. The Christian peace is rooted not in temporary feelings of consolation, but in the blessed promise of eternal happiness with the God who is our Creator and the one who is our souls greatest desire.
Jesus came as man so that He could regain and rebuild our trust and give us a peace that the world cannot give but in order to tap into that and really trust Him more we have to open our eyes to reality, to see things as they REALLY are which is the work of the second and often neglected faculty of the soul - the intellect.
Frank Sheed hits the nail in the head,
the man who uses his intellect in religion is using it to see what is there. But the alternative to seeing what is there is either not seeing what is there, and this is darkness; or seeing what is not there, and this is error, derangement, a kind of double darkness. And it is unthinkable that darkness whether single or double should be preferred to light.
The reality to be seen is that He makes all things work together for our good as He is the source of all things and He holds all things in existence. He is in control and all we have to do is open the eyes of our soul(our intellect) to see it so that we can say yes to trusting Him even in the hardest of situations!
If I was in a room filled with light, I wouldn't fear stubbing my little toe against any table but the moment the lights are off the lack of trust in my instincts to avoid stubbing my toe kicks in.
Likewise, in order to trust Jesus in our walk here on earth we have to consciously "see Him in all things" as St.Ignatius of Loyola put it.
Everything we face good or bad, God can take it and use it for His glory and our good. Do we see Jesus in every situation and hence place our trust in Him? If we truly know He is in control and place our trust in Him, His peace will definitely rest in our hearts.
Peace is what we all long for. . .Well actually, happiness is what we all long for but there can be no happiness without a true sense of peace!
Peace be with you and peace out! ✌
